EN 10149-2 S420MC plates and sheets are cold forming low-alloy high-strength steels that possess excellent formability and impact resistance. They have the following chemical composition: ≤0.12% Carbon (C), ≤0.025% Phosphorus (P), ≤0.015% Sulfur (S), ≤1.60% Manganese (Mn), and ≤0.50% Silicon (Si), with the best weldability and strength. The mechanical properties have a minimum yield point of 420 MPa, tensile strength of 480-620 MPa, and elongation of 16% (for thickness ≤3mm), with great formability and impact resistance.
